Sinopsis:
Master mendapat gelar doktor kehormatan dalam bidang humaniora dari Universitas Nasional Chung Cheng. Namun, Master merasa Master tidak layak menerimanya karena Tzu Chi dijalankan oleh semua insan Tzu Chi. Master hanya mewakili semua orang untuk menerima gelar kehormatan ini.
Lebih dari 50 tahun yang lalu, Tzu Chi berawal dari 3 orang biarawati yang bertanya kepada Master, “Apa kontribusi agama Buddha bagi masyarakat?” Pada saat itu, Master teringat perkataan gurunya saat Master menyatakan berguru kepadanya, “Kamu harus ingat, di masa mendatang kamu harus bersumbangsih demi ajaran Buddha dan semua makhluk.” Para biarawati itu telah menginspirasi dan mengingatkan Master untuk selalu mengingat perkataan gurunya.
Master berterima kasih kepada para bhiksuni Griya Jing Si yang tak takut lelah. Selain hidup secara mandiri, mereka juga harus mendukung kebutuhan Tzu Chi. Master sering berkata kepada para bhiksuni, “Kita harus mendukung kebutuhan Tzu Chi dan tidak boleh memanfaatkan sedikit pun dana Tzu Chi untuk kebutuhan hidup kita.”
